Mental Physics
On the same day I slept at the Harmony Motel in Joshua Tree, famed location where U2 stayed whilst working on their Joshua Tree album, I went to the Institute of Mental Physics, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and his son, Lloyd Wright. I can’t say I was particularly impressed by either location, but the weight of history of very different seminal figures in their respective fields still made the experience both surreal and amusingly interesting. I did enjoy seeing the original Anton Corbijn U2 photographs taken at Zabriskie Point near Death Valley, as well as indulging in New Age ambiance mixed with 80′s flashbacks – how good and appropriately weird does it get anyway?
The big question for me though was: how would Mr Wright feel about the air conditioning units in this elevation?
