Light Is King

In both architecture and photography light is king. Light is to space as guacamole is to corn chips – they need each other to fulfill their own inherent destiny for greatness. The quality of the light is what turns a series of benign and mundane concrete columns into an exciting palette of vertical color planes, defining and toying with depth. The variation in intensity is what draws the viewer to scan the scene with curiosity. Without light there is no space. Without space there is no light. Without either there is no photography or architecture.
